The Judgment of Edom Is a Sign of Hope and Restoration for Jerusalem
Paul's grand vision of the gospel assumes clearer practical shape in Romans 12. Here we find the answer to the crisis of humanity disclosed in chapter 1 with the formation of a new humanity, ordered not towards idolatry, but true worship. The final verse gives a note of relief as punishment for Zion's sins is accomplished. Edom's is still to come.
