Is There a Shift in Opinions on Chilled Beverages?

In the medieval world, ice is certainly very present. And we know that, particularly in the Middle East, ice was very popular. There's a lovely myth about Saladin sending a sack of ice to Richard I - probably not true. As to whether there's a shift or not of acceptance, I don't think he ever wasn't accepted.
