The 80% Placement Rate at McKinsey
The 80% placement rate is not because we're taking the most talented candidates, says TCO. We deliberately pick candidates that have challenging backgrounds and then work with them to place them at McKinsey and BCG and Bain. So when you look at these numbers, it's not as if this is easy to achieve. When I was a partner at the firm, I don't recall ever hiring someone with a 2.1 GPA. And in my mind, I almost saw 3.5 as a rule.
