In 19 15, young women who had married into wealthy and important politicalam is didn't just walk away from this life of respectable luxury in order to become a model slash show girl. That peggy had done exactly this and refused to be shamed for it, turned her into an instant celebrity among the emerging new york tabloids. Peggy's role in the follies was not all that different from her role in the style show. She wore clothes and looked stunning. Although the costumes and the follies were not exactly high fashion, they were instead fashioned to reveal enough of the show girl's body so as to inspire the male audience members to imagine what the rest looked like.
