Is Qualified Immunity a Good Idea?
This seems like a great candidate for something to get rid of in order to increase police accountability. But at the same time, it's not clear that the is quo is worse than what would obtain if we got rid of qualified immunity. So i've seen some examples where qualified immunity protects a cop who did something that i really do see as indefensible. I'm genuinely undecided about that issue and looking for rigorous, evidence based research about what would happen if we ended it.
