The Early Uses of Fire

Humans were likely very skilled at using fire before even being able to produce it. They would have been encouraged as individuals to specialize in part skill. If you had a man that was significantly better at making hand axes an the rest of his group, then would it not increase your chances of survival? The expert hunters hunted and the expert shelter builders were left to build shelters while the fire makers tended the fires. It can be very hard to say assertively of any sigt over one million years old that it was definitely under human control.
