How Did You End Up in Japan?

In April there was a Russian missile attack on the railway station in my hometown where more than 50 people died. So rail service stopped until mid autumn and I couldn't come back home because the situation was extremely dangerous, but also it was impossible. You ended up heading to Poland before going to Germany by way of France. How did you end up in Japan? It wasn't a piece of cake because my major is TV and radio journalism and it's not so popular I brought. Yeah, but I didn't give up and finally I have a scholarship in Japan that changed my life half a year ago and helped me continue my education.
