SAD was a 19th-century British writer. He wrote four novels, also short stories and essays. His work is considered one of the greats in English literature. Jack Kerouac: SAD's books helped us understand each others' points of view. But he says they can put foul ideas in our head as we learn to live inside other people's heads.
