In the playoffs, you have to know everyone on the floor. You can't just be like, I'm guarding patty Mills and I'll focus on just patty Mills. If you're switching, you now have to focus on four to five different guys on the court on the fly in real time while going full speed. This increases what we'd call your cognitive load, all this psychological stress.
