Underground bands in russia were considered by the government amateurs, that they weren't good enough to be professional. When these bands started to become well known, and they couldn't officially record, they couldn't play in clubs. But what they did do is they played these home concerts in apartments, and somebody went squeeze 50 people, a hundred people, and they would come and play. And then they would release these quarterinch tapes, like i said earlier, that would be copied over and over and over. So when the underground band started in the seventies, first they were singing beetle songs and western songs, and then a few of the russian musicians, borus being one
