Ilya Kuznetsov: I started in economics and finance, then moved to the internet. He says he participated in a lot of competitions but didn't really think they have any practical or scientific merit. After that, he worked for one year in an official capacity company called Pro which invested in NLP services. But eventually realized it wasn't necessary because their work was already using machine learning.
