The Origins of the Deification Thread in Christianity
The idea of deification as it's called, the idea of man becoming God, exist mostly in the New Testament. Do you happen to know whether there was this thread at all in Judaism or was it only when Jesus came on the scene? I do not know. So it wouldn't surprise me if there was in fact that line of thought within Jewish thought at some point. Yes. It is a lot like that. And in fact, that is actually part of Christian tradition that kind of got lost that Mormons largely rediscovered.
