We might input a single, saye, map of what the ocean looks like to day. You might imput multiple images rather than just one if you're trying to make some sort of prety on. So in this case, we use every pixle is i sort of one input of this map of the world, or of this data of the way the climate system is right now. And then the goal that is the output is to predict something into the future. We know what features of our input, what features of to day's weather and climate can inform us about two weeks from now.
