The case definition still relies entirely on symptoms, no objective marker of any kind. Doctors unfamiliarity with the disease or discomfort in diagnosing it could stem from the fact that, at least until recently, less than one third medical schools cover m c f s in their curriculum. A 20 15 report found that it takes most patients more than a year to be diagnosed, and many of them much longer than that.
