Is There a Difference Between Lou G and Dasha?

It's a very strange series in that way, how it treats his characters and how important its characters are to the plot. Some of them just seem to be here just to be observers just to have a character to observe what's going on. I think it only takes a very, maybe very specific kind of like sci-fi reader psychographic to be solely invested in the sort of events and ideas they're putting on display.
