Debian and Ubuntu are getting a bit fed up with Python problems on their distros. The problem is if you use pip to install modules, chances are you will override your existing install of Python. And going back on that Python install is extremely hard because generally you need the older version of Python for it to work. It's exactly like if you uninstall Python using pip to reinstall Python, you'll need Python.
