Marvin Gaye's falsetto was one of the first singers I think where I use that expression telling you that yawn sensation. Nina Simone had that as well. Smokey Robinson, more kind of whispery, a reedy sound, a little thinner, kind of a gentle vibrato. Those are some of the icons I think of singing in falsetto.
