Are We Going in the Wrong Direction?
Bush founded a principle that was never fully grounded in conservatism, he says. And so what that meant was that conservatism found itself at war with one another and new questions were coming up. Donald Trump's ascendancy through a new wrench into it has forced people who are Republicans to see how they were out of step with many of their voters,. We're still in that phase of seeing whether or not conservatism can either find a new consensus or maybe even heaven forbid fuse as common friends.
