James miller was charged with the murder of 15 year old conni jordanedes. Now that he had been charged, south australian law dictated that he either be given bail or be put before a magistrate to determine the next course of action. The detectives knew that if they made the decision to take miller off sight before being placed before the court, it had the potential to derail any future legal proceedings.
