The Desublimation of Desire
The object cause of my desire can also be part and parcel of what I do as a subject of the drive. This is that desublimation that I was talking about here. A shift from these imaginary objects, cigarettes, lollipops, cars, money and the like, back to something that can be experienced as my lack. To reclaim from this fantasy of life pegged on what we imagine the other to be demanding. Something more akin to a lack that is uniquely mine.
