When we were elected on a mandate of peace, he was going to end the war in the Donbass that began after the 2014 Madon coup. But ultimately, by the end of the period leading up to Russia's invasion, he was refusing to speak even with the leaders of the Donbass rebellion and talking about taking back Crimea. I've been thinking that he was basically intimidated by Ukraine's far right who undermined his peace mandate,. And they were aided in sabotage in Zelensky's mandate by their allies in Washington.
