The Journey to Functional Programming

I've been using Russ for the last four years. He'll get up in front of an audience and explain things that he doesn't fully understand. I have this little running group. They love commenting on how I like to talk about shit that I don't know anything about. And obviously that's what I'm doing here today with Russ naturally. But before we get to the details, I do want to hear about your journey to functional programming because while you're at type safe, you actually did like make the transition to scholar and functional programming.
