The Russian Military's Defensive Strategy in Ukraine

The Russian winter offensive was not successful, but it forced Ukraine to make some choices. It did impose a degree of loss in the Russian and Ukrainian military as well. But nonetheless, it created a force management challenge that would then come to the fore in a defensive because the whole time Ukraine is defending.
