Is There a CYA Aspect to It?
I think it's liability shield. I once joined a company and there was like a section in the manual that said you couldn't do cocaine on premises. They didn't know that they weren't supposed to do that. There's certain norms that you know shouldn't be violated. And if someone violates this norms, you should just fire their ass. Because it's so much, it's really just a CYA type of thing.
