If the extinction of most of the dinosaurs didn't occur, who knows what might have come? Grasslands is a massive driver of mam and evolution. It's also not just about competition between animal types, also about environmental change. Would grass have come without that? Because I suspect grass would have because it was present in the Cretaceous. But you've no idea. We wouldn't have had this strange group of primates. They may not have been ended up being us, but something weird and successful. Isn't this where Chaos Theory comes into its own? No, of course. You can speculate. But you'd be wrong.
