The Budget and the CBO and Republicans in Congress
On the tax side specifically, I don't see any of these proposals making their way through the current Congress. Republicans are pretty dead set against raising taxes even as part of the sort of upcoming budget negotiations. The president and Republicans could seem to agree on at least in theory that the 2017 tax cuts expire at the end of 2025. No one agrees how to deal with the deficit impacts of the current budget let alone the problems with keeping taxes below the amount of money we're spending for the foreseeable future.
