The Lures of the Swimming Pool

I decided to stay behind until my swimming initiative bare fruit and I thought maybe in four or five years those children will be old enough to qualify for the Olympics. But this initiative made me more attached to people and I am a social person. So that made me more inclined to stay a bit longer. Of course things were easy at the time. You were free to travel. You could travel abroad. It was a time when anything was possible. There was no reason to think that you wouldn't just be able to pick up your plans in four or 5 years time. Was there? No, of course not.
