Deforestation is also leading to massive bio diversity loss. Each time a species go goes extinct, that's the end of a four billion year line of evolution - something that should be respected. And in one sense, each one of those species is part a gigantic living library with its own set of solutions to its own biological challenges. Any one of those can transform how we think about the life sciences at any moment.
