The Inherent Spousal Meaning of the Body
After sin then, St. John Paul said, the task, or the challenge, or the will of men and women is to reconstruct the meaning of the reciprocal gift of self. The inherent spousal meaning of the body is not destroyed completely by sin because the body can still communicate. But because of sin, our communications with our body are now distorted. And this is why we need Christ's redemption.
