Heraclitus - The Things of the World Are Transformations of Fire
Heraclitus was a noble from the west coast of modern day turkey, part of the greek lisation at that time. To heraclitus, everything flows ta pantare. There is no durable existence to anything, no duration at all. From the perspective of a god, nothing in this world lasts for any amount of time. It's simply a dynamic, living fire that surges in some places and goes out in other places. And so the description of the world as fire is not merely a literal pronouncement,. although ou you could take it somewhat literally as a statement about the physical world.
