When you're thrilled, it's excited, but to bits means you fall apart. Thrilled to bits sounds a little bit strange, but it's one of those idiomatic expressions that we use. And then finally, tickled pink. If you tickled somebody, they laugh. When they laugh, the face changes color. So I'm tickled pink, meaning very excited and very, very happy. There are words and expressions connected with happy. Chuffed, cheerful, pleased, elated, glad, delighted, joyous, and then our expressions over the moon, thrilled to bits, and finally, tickle pink.
