The Case of William Morgan
William Morgan was sent to the Conidagua County Jail where he laid until nine o'clock in the evening of the next day. The Masons had succeeded in getting him to stay in jail this time after their third attempt at sending him to debtor's prison essentially. Now, somehow the Masons were able to coax her into releasing Morgan for a sum of money, sort of an under-the-table bail fee,. They convinced her they were his friends. But it would soon find out he was walking into a trap.
