A Short Story or a Book?

I don't think it was based on a short story. I feel like the level of details, things like that, you see that and you go, ok, that came out of somebody's world building exercise. The televisions just this kind of, like, gibberish, fractil code kind of thing. It is all completely bland. A which i think goes into a lot of this terr or two of
