The Life of Crime is a new book by Martin Edwards subtitled Detecting the History of Mysteries and Their Creators. It clocks in at a modest 724 pages but it's very, very browsable too. You can pick your spots and there's really wonderful notes at the end of each chapter that point you in other directions. We'll also talk a little bit about our modern addiction to true crime.
