The Difference Between Selfishness and Pride

There is a distinction between selfishness and pride. If we knew that the more selfless act was going to actually make us more individually happy, then we would choose that. But it will also make us happier to choose less happiness over higher happiness. So if we look at our choices in terms of the pursuit of happiness, if we focus on what comes first, which is dying to ourselves, then we can see that as something to be rejected.
