The Pitchfork Review

CHAPTER

Pop Stardom in 2022?

I feel like we're getting at the idea of pop stardom is so different in 2022. To me, I mean more like experimental artists and pop music making artists that have the ability to rise up or create a cult of fandom around them. Moona are a band who was previously on a major label and then they were dropped. They put out their debut for Phoebe Bridgers label Sadist Factory last year. Dijon reminds me of pure Katy Perry, but you know, through this queer lens. That's a band I think there's a realm where they're headline me as a square guard at some point.
