The Complications of Leukemia Treatment
We have to start thinking about some of the weirder infections, things that we don't normally see in people with healthy immune systems. We really think death from sepsis in children with leukemia is probably the highest and really the most concerning if your ANC is less than 100. The classic teaching is you don't give anything when they have a fever and you just get them to the emergency room. And so that's kind of our biggest take home message to fight.
