Confession - Is That Normal for a Catholic?

Confession is not necessarily required that you go to confession before every time you have a state of grace, like meditate. In scripture, there's a delineation between the kind of sin that leads unto death and those that are listed as drunkards or idolaters. We believe that that was passed on through apostolic succession to modern day priests. Where in the bible did jesus ask any confession when he gave them the bread and wine at the last supper? Cause i don't recall him doing that.
