The Aristotelian's Theory of the Soul
Aristotle thinks that insofar as it's unified, there has to be some principle unifying it. So not only is the sense experience or consciousness of Buster unified, but so is his ability to move in the world in a unified way. The soul can be understood then as a biological principle with observable effects without being reduced to some part or ingredient. This approach to life and to other issues in science was first introduced as an alternative to the reductive views of people like Watson.
