The Importance of Recognizing the Authority of the Pope
People think that when the pope speaks, it's infallible there can be. He doesn't make mistakes, which is just speaking when he speaks. That isn't, that is fundamentally untrue. It's only with respect to faith and morals that he has the authority to do that. There's a human tendency to look for a scapegoat, look for someone to be responsible for particular things. The Pope might not be the person that has made a mistake or done something wrong,. even if a pope can make a mistake.
