Charles Ertigen and Jesse Stone

Charles was one of many artists making records with the standard Atlantic musicians and arrangers. The music he was making was still generic R&B, but it didn't sound like anyone else at all. Ertigen came up with some new words for that, mostly based around traditional fluting lyrics. Jesse Stone came up with an arrangement, and the result was titled Mess Around.
