A Polish newspaper reported that traces of explosives had been detected by investigators in the wreckage of the tulip. The claims were denied by polish prosecutors, who claimed that a number of common substances could have produced the observed readings. British air accident investigator frank taylor, claimed that there were explosions on board the aircraft, including in its wings immediately before it reached the tree. According to polish experts, trace amounts of high explosives could be present in the airplane due to frequent presence of military personal on board or as a result of contamination on the ground.
