Firm ways in which you can say no. Can't do that - I've got a busy day the next day. Or if somebody knocks on your office door and says, can I disturb you? Look, not now. Come back later. There's absolutely no chance that I'm climbing up that mountain. Do you think they're going to win the football match tomorrow night? Not a chance. We might get a bonus but it's not happening this year. Things are difficult so don't expect salary increases or bonuses. You must be joking... there's no way we'll go for a hike today. Some other time when I'm feeling better.
