The Tevengi's Conversion to Christianity
In cultural terms well we know they speak a Germanic language. What their belief structures were like before Christianity impacts upon them is very hard to say, there are just a few echoes in the texts and what you feel you might be able to deduce from what they do archaeologically. The evidence suggests very strongly that you had a Christian substratum within fourth century populations mostly derived from the prisoners taken from Asia Minor who then converted some other people as well. There's that process of horizontal conversion going on as you might expect.
