Is There a Cultural Shift in Higher Education?
I think it's part of a broad based pattern where we're just, we're dumbing down stuff. I used to be a teacher in China and there's like no universe ever where Chinese students would start a petition to complain about the school work being too hard. It's popping up in a lot of questions about higher education that, oh, the reason that these institutions are capitulating is because everyone's trying to compete for students. Well, you know, something if there were cultural guardrails and expectations that this ridiculous thing, this ridiculous complaint from these kids would be treated as ridiculous, no one would have the gumption to go make the complaint.
