There's a sense of I'm insulated from this because I'm privileged in some way. Inevitably, though, that's never the reality. These things have an inherent tendency to creep and get turned around on you. We shouldn't have to make the argument that it's wrong because it might be used on you. That is morally abhorrent. But what is more convincing is this idea that it will come for you. Not it might come for you or maybe it'll come from you or you might lose your position and slip down into a more vulnerable population. No, no, it will comes for you. As you said, the occupation always comes home. It always does.
