As a Korean American with pretty Korean parents I feel like I grew up with really rigid ideas of what a woman should do and what a man should do. My mom didn't work for a lot of the time when I was growing up And a lot of Korean American moms in the US also don't So there are definite gender role Definitions in my parents head Damn, it's so interesting because I've always learned that China is kind of a matriarchal society.
