Isometric Training - Hypertrophy Versus Strength

Isometric training can be used to improve strength and hypertrophy. The key is knowing what you are trying to achieve before starting a workout. It's important to contract explosively, not for long periods of time but as quickly as possible. A joint position that induces a longer muscle length will increase your strength improvement. Hypertrophy might take place at different parts of the muscle depending on where it is trained.
