The History of the Humbacher Fest

The Humbacher Fest exposed one serious crack between the liberals on the one hand and more radical Democrats on the other. The festival did not immediately turn into anything but it is just another milestone on the road to both the revolutions of 1848 and eventually German unification. Next week, we will hop over to the other great Germanic power, the Austrians and Medernics beloved multi-ethnic empire.
