Coffin Roads Run From East to West

There's a widespread view that you went west to die, and particularly west to be buried. The west was the ocean had the islands of the blessed far out in the west. This is Celtic mythology, the land of eternal youth. So there's that kind of spiritual sense of going west, going home to die. But they nearly all do run from east to west. It's very striking.
